This is a break-up song and I guess any couple have sort of thought this to themselves at some point, not necessarily if they argue a lot but if they argue, they think, this is serious this time, she means it this time, she's had enough.
But also in a different way it's sort of forgiving. It's not a nasty break-up song, it's kind of saying, "well fair enough, let's call it a day. I've put you through enough, we could have helped each other a bit more now and again but we didn't, so let s go our separate ways". It s a chilled-out break-up song.

This was the first track I recorded for the album. I recorded it with me on acoustic guitar, Paul on drums and I did the vocal live. I then just overdubbed everything else bit by bit; electric guitar, bass, a bit of ukulele.
I think this song sums up for me how much I love playing with Paul Beavis! An absolute world class player, his groove and his dynamics are just perfect. I never have to tell him what to play! The groove on the play out of this song is just sensational!!! Paul you are a top man! x

The electric guitar on it is another Silvertone, a different Silvertone made by Dan Electro, what they call an amp-in-case guitar where the guitar comes in a case with an amp built into it. I didn't use the amp but the guitar sounds fantastic. I played it through this tiny little amplifier called an Oahu. They were made in Cleveland in the 50s for lap steel guitars; they are only about six watts but they are beautiful things.
